Valerian Root Loose Tea
Valerian Root Herbal Tea
Earthy, woody, and distinctly aromatic, valerian root tea has a strong herbal flavor with slightly bitter, musky notes. Valerian root has traditionally been used as a calming herb to support relaxation, occasional nervous tension, and restful sleep, and some research suggests it may help improve sleep quality, although evidence remains mixed.
Best Preparation: Add 1–2 teaspoons of dried valerian root to a cup of hot water. Cover and steep for 10–15 minutes, then strain well and enjoy warm, preferably in the evening. Its strong flavor can be softened with honey, cinnamon, or blended with chamomile or lemon balm.
Note: Valerian may cause drowsiness. Avoid combining it with alcohol, sleeping medications, or other sedating substances, and do not drive or operate machinery after consuming it. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals and people taking regular medication should consult a healthcare professional before use.
