White Willow Bark Loose Tea
White Willow Bark Herbal Tea
Earthy, woody, and pleasantly bitter, white willow bark tea has a distinctive herbal flavor with subtle astringent notes. White willow bark naturally contains salicin, a plant compound related to the active ingredient in aspirin. It has traditionally been used to support occasional pain, headache, and joint or muscle discomfort, although it should not be considered a treatment for medical conditions.
Best Preparation: Add 1–2 teaspoons of dried white willow bark to a cup of water. Bring to a gentle simmer for 10–15 minutes, then strain well and enjoy warm. Its naturally bitter flavor can be softened with a little honey or blended with ginger or cinnamon.
Important: White willow bark can have aspirin-like effects and may increase the risk of bleeding. It should be avoided by people allergic to aspirin or salicylates, children and teenagers with viral illnesses, and those taking blood-thinning medicines or certain other medications. People with ulcers, bleeding disorders, kidney disease, or asthma should consult a healthcare professional before use.
