Rhubarb Root Loose Tea
Rhubarb Root Tea
Earthy, tangy, and pleasantly tart, rhubarb root tea has a distinctive herbal flavor with woody notes and a mildly bitter finish. Rhubarb root has traditionally been used to support digestive health and bowel regularity, particularly for occasional constipation, its effects can be strong and it should not be considered a main treatment for digestive disorders.
Best Preparation: Add ½–1 teaspoon of dried rhubarb root to a cup of water. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 10–15 minutes, then strain well and enjoy warm. Because of its naturally bitter, tart flavor, it can be blended with ginger, cinnamon, or a little honey.
Important: Rhubarb root contains anthraquinones that can have a laxative effect. It should not be consumed in large amounts or for prolonged periods, and it is best avoided by people with intestinal obstruction, inflammatory bowel conditions, kidney problems, or during pregnancy unless advised by a healthcare professional.
