Comfrey Herbal Tea

Mild, earthy, and slightly sweet, comfrey has a soft herbal flavor with subtle grassy and woody notes. Although comfrey has a long history of traditional use for skin, muscle, and joint discomfort, it contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) that can cause serious liver damage when taken internally. For this reason, comfrey is not recommended as a drinking tea, and preparations intended for internal consumption should be avoided.

Best Preparation: For your website, I would not recommend an internal preparation method for comfrey tea. If you sell dried comfrey, it is safer to describe it as a traditional botanical intended for external use only, where appropriate, rather than promoting it as a beverage.

Important: Comfrey should not be consumed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, by children, or by people with liver disease.
